Start by making sure your framing looks good. Enough light on you? (With insufficient light, you will be grainy). Camera at eye level (most people have it too low so you shooting up toward the ceiling and upwards into nostrils. Prop your laptop on some books to make it eye level). Be sure there is not a lot of distraction in the backdrop…and remember the world sees how you live. Make sure you are not sitting with a bright light or window directly behind you or you will be in annoying silhouette. If you have a barking dog or overly talkative bird, perhaps you should have them in any room. More later.
